The chickens

Our chickens are a very important part of Willow Tree Garden. All apart from 5 of them are rescued ex-battery hens. We have 60 hens, that are safe in their own areas and are lucky enough to be sponsored by individual organisations who contribute to their welfare. They are supported by Homefield School, Slimming World, Cliff Park Thursday group and Hopton, KMDS and Herringport. The pictures show the development of the chicken runs, that have been designed to allow people in wheelchairs to access the chickens, without getting grubby wheels.
